TikTok launches a new travel service – TikTok GO

On Monday the company announced the launch of the TikTok GO feature, which allows users to find and book hotels, attractions, and entertainment directly within the app.

- When a user sees an interesting video, they can open a detailed card for the location, check availability, and place an order without leaving the app.
- Service partners: Booking.com, Expedia, Viator, GetYourGuide, Tiqets, and Trip.com.

Why it matters
TikTok already used a similar model in 2023 with the launch of TikTok Shop in the U.S., where products from videos could be purchased directly in the app. Now the company is applying that same strategy to travel:

- Users stay inside TikTok from viewing to booking.
- The platform becomes a “universal” service: viral travel content leads straight to deals and revenue.
- Video creators can monetize their content by earning commissions on each booking.

Competition with Google
TikTok is increasingly turning its app into a search engine. TikTok GO intensifies competition with Google, as users are more often using TikTok to find travel information. The service’s partners (Booking.com, Expedia, etc.) are also direct competitors in the tourism sector.

Management comment
TikTok USDS Joint Venture CEO Adam Presser said:

> “Every day millions of people on TikTok learn where to eat, where to stay, and what to do next. TikTok GO directly connects that moment of inspiration with partner companies, benefiting content creators, local businesses, and communities.”

Availability
The service is already available in the U.S. for users over 18. Expansion to other markets is expected in the coming weeks.
