WhatsApp introduces noise suppression for calls

The messenger’s developers have begun adding a background noise suppression feature to the app, which has already appeared in one of the latest beta versions of WhatsApp for Android. This means it could soon make its way into stable releases.

How it works – Noise filtering: with the mode enabled, all external sounds are automatically eliminated, making voice and sound clearer.

Practical benefit: if a conversation partner is outside or on public transport, the other user will hear them more clearly.

Control – The feature can be turned on or off in the app settings.

The toggle appears directly in the call window.

Noise suppression is enabled by default.

What’s next? Noise suppression is being gradually introduced for beta testers. If the tests succeed, Android users may see this feature a few weeks or months after the stable version is released.
