What will change in Siri with the release of iOS 27

Bloomberg revealed details about the new voice assistant for iPhone. The next version of the operating system will include several important innovations:

How it will work
New search gesture
Swipe down from the center of the top of the screen (in the Dynamic Island area) will bring up a “Find or ask” bar. This allows you to quickly open search without leaving the current app.

Support for third‑party AI services
Within the search bar, you can switch between Siri, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other services. To enter voice mode, simply tap the microphone icon.

Background operation with personal data
The updated assistant will be able to run in the background and have access to the user’s personal information (contacts, calendar, etc.).

Spotlight‑like interface
The search screen will resemble the familiar Spotlight panel but with expanded results and the ability to view data from installed apps.

Quick file loading into Siri
Within the app, a “+” button will appear, allowing you to quickly add images or documents to a query.

Switch to chatbot mode
Swiping down on the translucent card with results opens a full chatbot where you can have a dialogue with Siri or the selected AI service.

Additional updates
- Camera: improvements to the interface and new features are expected.

- Liquid Glass: the system’s visual style will be refined, giving it a smoother and more transparent look.

All of these changes will be officially confirmed at the upcoming WWDC. Preliminary materials already show updated Siri animation in the promo video.
