In the long‑awaited merger: Mod created a trader character from the remake of Resident Evil 4 in Resident Evil Requiem
Mods bring the merchant back in Resident Evil Requiem
The developers of the popular action‑horror *Resident Evil Requiem* replaced familiar trader characters with lifeless supply crates. To restore the “proper” experience, the modding community stepped up.
As IGN notes, last week modder fanteeek released the patch *Merchant — Supply Boxes*. It replaces the standard crates with a living merchant from the remake of *Resident Evil 4*, thereby returning him to Leon. In the original game, supply crates are only available in the *Requiem* campaign.
At present the mod contains only a simple greeting line and an idle animation, but the author plans to add deeper dialogue and interactions in future updates.
How to install
To run the mod you’ll need:
1. REFramework – the core framework for Resident Evil mods.
2. Fluffy Mod Manager – a convenient mod manager.
3. A licensed copy of *Resident Evil Requiem* (do not use cracked versions, such as those from voices38).
User reviews
Nexus Mods users expressed joy at the merchant’s return:
“I felt naked without him. It’s nice to see the merchant again in the most unusual places,” writes Lorisidir3003.
Brief game information
*Resident Evil Requiem* was released on February 27 and is available on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The May patch plans a mini‑game (possibly “Mercenaries”), and a story expansion is expected later.
Thus, the *Merchant — Supply Boxes* mod restores a classic franchise element, giving the game a new level of interactivity and nostalgia.
