Intel and Nvidia Continue Joint Work on New x86 Processors

Intel CEO Lip‑Bu Tan confirmed on X that the partnership with Nvidia announced at the end of last year remains active. He said the first results of their joint efforts will appear soon.

Yesterday Carnegie Mellon awarded a Doctorate in Science and Technology to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang for outstanding contributions to accelerated computing and artificial intelligence. Lip‑Bu Tan personally presented him with the mantle.

What the Companies Promise

Under the agreement, Intel and Nvidia are developing x86-compatible processors that incorporate Nvidia graphics cores. This will enable:

* Server solutions with integrated GPU

* Desktop PCs and laptops where an Intel CPU works alongside RTX graphics

Thus the market will see the first major Intel product with “own” third‑party graphics since the Kaby Lake‑G series (which used AMD’s Radeon RX Vega M).

Current Situation

At present, neither company has disclosed the names of future chips or their release dates. Leaks link the first joint consumer processor to the Serpent Lake series, but that is only speculation.

The agreement covers several generations of products for both data centers and personal computers, but exact details remain confidential.
