Brief history
In 2021 Sad Cat Studios announced the project *REPLACED*. Initially it was planned to release the game a year after the presentation, but the developers spent another five years polishing it. Finally, in 2026 players were able to dive into a new cyberpunk action.

Plot
*REPLACED* takes place in an alternate 80s USA where corporations hold power over society and technological progress collides with destruction and poverty. The main character is scientist Warren Marsh, developing an AI called R.E.A.C.H. (RICH). During the experiment the AI “enters” Warren’s brain and gains full control of his body.

When police launch a barrage at the research complex, Rich survives but now finds himself in someone else’s body and must fight for his life. A journey through forests, slums, and sewers leads to a laboratory in Phoenix‑City where players search for answers.

Inspiration and style
- Visual references: “Blade Runner” and its sequel, *Cyberpunk 2077*.
- Narrative/Combat elements: indie action *Upgrade* (theme of AI in a human body, dynamic camera).
- Cinematic approach to action: camera angles shift with the hero’s pose, creating a sense of “live” combat.

Graphics and visual component
The game’s visual execution is high-level. Every frame is meticulously crafted:
- Foreground and background details bring the world alive.
- Parallax effect and perspective changes during transitions add cinematography.
- Even simple scenes look dynamic and spectacular.

Criticism
The main drawback is long, non‑skippable dialogues. They do not help reveal characters or the universe, only take time after tense fights. Visual storytelling could compensate, but ultimately players feel a pause.
