Game premise
INDUSTRIA 2 is a sequel to the shooter created by the small studio Bleakmill. The first edition was noted for its simple gameplay and imperfect optimization, but it hid an interesting idea. In the sequel the developers decided to rethink everything: from the plot to the mechanics.

Plot
The game starts several years after the finale of the first part. The main heroine Nora finds herself in another dimension and watches as her own creation – the artificial intelligence ATLAS – takes control. As the player progresses, the purpose of creating the AI and the reasons for destroying the alternate world are revealed.

At the beginning of the game Nora meets Madeleine – an old acquaintance from her home world. It turns out that a search party was sent after her, and now she has a chance to return home. This event becomes the central motif of the entire campaign.

Locations
The sequel significantly expanded its geography: players explore forests, old mines, robot‑passersby at checkpoints (judging by coincidences with *Half‑Life 2*, this is purely accidental) and city streets. The visual style is a blend of brutalism, Eastern European aesthetics, and alien technology: black capsules with red lights envelop buildings, creating an atmosphere of impending danger.

Atmosphere
The game became darker, closer to horror. Enemies are creepy bioconstructs instead of cartoonish robots, and locations are plunged into darkness. This heightens tension and forces the player to stay constantly alert.

Gameplay
- Slower pace: the game feels like *Resident Evil* – ammo is scarce, you have to use found items.

- Inventory as a backpack: Nora can take it off her back at any moment; this does not stop the game.

- Limited weapon access: out of five possible barrels only two are in quick access. To change them you must open the backpack and move the desired guns onto the rails.

Most of the “immersiveness” manifests itself in opening doors and chests similar to *Penumbra* – the player has to find handles, press buttons, and explore every corner.

Conclusion
Bleakmill managed to turn an original shooter with simple mechanics into a deeper and more atmospheric game. Although many elements feel familiar, *INDUSTRIA 2* brings its own unique style and gameplay solutions that make it worthy of attention from both fans of the original and new players.
