Pull “The Outer Worlds” from sale due to the problematic remaster—yet there’s a positive side to that.

Updated version of The Outer Worlds will be the only available one

Developers from Obsidian Entertainment, a Microsoft-owned studio, announced that the enhanced edition of the satirical role‑playing game *The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition* will soon become the sole purchasable option.

What happened to the original game
- Release in March 2023

When the remaster launched, Steam users complained about serious performance issues. As a result, the game received “very negative” reviews.

- Patches and improvements

Since then several updates have been released that mitigated those problems. Currently Spacer’s Choice Edition ratings are largely positive (around 75 %). However, developers have not yet finished work on the game.

The game will be removed from all digital storefronts—Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. Spacer’s Choice Edition will remain the only available option.

The game received two expansions: *Peril on Gorgon* and *Murder on Eridanos*, which are already included in Spacer’s Choice Edition.

Thus, after May 27 the only purchasable option will be the enhanced version with updated mechanics and fixed bugs.
