WSTS Forecast: The global semiconductor market is growing almost twice

According to the latest estimates from WSTS (World Semiconductor Trade Statistics), the global capacity of the semiconductor product market this year will increase by 89.9 % to $1.51 trillion. More than half of that amount will be generated by memory sales – revenue from memory will grow by 250 % and reach $804 billion.

Market Segments
Segment Growth (%) Revenue (bn $)
Memory +250 % 804
Logic Components +37 % 411
Microprocessors +20 % 102
Analog +10.2 % 95.3
Sensors +3 % 21.5
Optoelectronics +2.7 % 44.2
Discrete Components +8 % 33.2

Regional Breakdown
- Americas (USA and Latin America) – growth of 112 %, revenue will be $544 billion.

- Asia-Pacific region – a more moderate increase of 87.4 % to $824 billion, remaining the largest region by sales volume.

- Europe – growth of 58.4 % to $86.6 billion.

- Japan – revenue increases by 27.6 % to $57 billion.

Forecast for Next Year
WSTS expects further growth of the global semiconductor market at 27 %, which will bring total revenue to $1.9 trillion. This year, memory will play a more modest role: its revenue will increase only by 32 % to $1 trillion, but it will still account for more than half of the market.

Segment Growth (%) Revenue (bn $)
Memory +32 % 1,000
Logic Components +27 % 523

Geographic Growth:

- Americas – lead with a 29 % increase.

- Asia-Pacific region – second in growth rate, rising by 26.6 %.

Thus, the semiconductor market continues to grow dynamically, with memory remaining a key demand driver, and logic and microprocessor components showing steady growth.
