Xiaomi is preparing a new SoC — Xring O3

The company Xiaomi has officially confirmed that this year it will release its own mobile processor, the Xring, for smartphones. Group president Lu Weibing announced that the “next Xring chip will definitely be improved” and described it as “very powerful” to create an “excellent product.”

What is known about the new chip

Context and confirmation
- Yesterday Xiaomi founder Lei Jun reported that Xring O1 shipments had already exceeded one million units. This showed that the company’s first flagship SoC is not an experiment but a foundation for a long‑term platform.

- Following this, Lu Weibing confirmed the development of a new processor, emphasizing its power and readiness for release this year.

Thus, Xiaomi continues to develop its own chip line, moving from Xring O1 to the more advanced O3, which promises significant performance gains and new capabilities for smartphones.
